So why do I have a hard time writing my nightly entry? Is there something scary about it? All I have to do is fill this space at night: then I can go to bed. What if I don't say anything? Then what? Then I have to delete the post down the line, I guess.
Anyway, the other night Leslie said that I should write anecdotes about Barbara, so she can turn them into something. We could collaborate on that. Leslie wants to do a character study of a mean or cruel person. She said that doing such a study might help her face her own fears. So I thought perhaps Leslie would like to read about some of the encounters I had with Barbara. Perhaps if I write these short bits from the overall chronicle, I could get the matter out of my being once and for all.
No luck finding the passage in Billy Budd that describes Claggart's character. It shouldn't be so hard to find!
So here are my encounters with Barbara... I'll have to list them later. But you can start with the one in Bill's office, where she walked out in a huff.
